The Dublin Pubcrawlers nipped the Burbank Tigers 3 to 2 at Pro Player Stadium
in a hard fought contest.
Dublin came up with 2 runs in the 3rd inning with the help of 3 hits. Shane
Spencer kicked off the action when he lashed a single. Matt Lawton was next
and he doubled. David Eckstein then worked the squeeze play to perfection
bringing in a run. Corey Koskie stepped in and he hit a sacrifice fly
scoring the final run of the inning. The early run support proved sufficient
for Casey Fossum(1-1) and Dublin. That was all the run support Fossum
required. Burbank had a chance in the 9th but they came up short.
Cal Eldred earned his 1st save. Jason Johnson(2-7) was given the loss. Adam
Smith was in a talkative mood in the clubhouse, 'Great game! If only we could
win all of the close ones - wouldn't that be nice! Since that's not going to
happen, I think I'll savor this one for a little while.'
